Scott Scale 400: a mountain bike for young riders
Moving from a kids' bike to a real mountain bike means having more control, more possibilities to explore and components designed around the needs of a growing rider.
The Scott Scale 400 is a junior mountain bike with 24" wheels, designed for riders with an approximate height of 125-135 cm. It is suitable for everyday rides as well as off-road use, with a setup focused on easy handling, control and versatility.
Alloy 6061 frame
The KIDS24 Disc Alloy 6061 frame features custom tubing and a construction specifically developed for a 24" junior bike. The rigid KIDS24 aluminium fork completes the chassis with a simple and easy-to-handle setup.
Shimano 8-speed drivetrain
The drivetrain combines a Shimano Tourney 8-speed rear derailleur with Shimano RevoShift shifters featuring a gear display. The SunRace 11-34T cassette provides a useful range for dealing with different gradients during rides.
The Prowheel alloy crankset uses a 30-tooth chainring with a protective chainring cover.
Tektro hydraulic disc brakes
The Scale 400 is equipped with Tektro hydraulic disc brakes and 160 mm rotors front and rear. The kids-specific brake levers also feature adjustable reach, helping to adapt the controls to smaller hands.
24" wheels with Kenda tires
The 24" wheels use alloy rims designed for disc brakes and are fitted with Kenda Booster 24 x 2.2" tires with a 30 TPI casing.
This setup allows young riders to use the bike for everyday cycling as well as when the route moves onto unpaved terrain.
Kids-specific components
The riding position is built around components designed for a junior bike, including the Leadtec Kids riser handlebar, Syncros KIDS III saddle and Syncros Kids' Grips.
The bike also comes equipped with Kids pedals with reflectors and an included kickstand.
