Maxxis Rekon WT: versatility for XC and trail

The Maxxis Rekon WT 29x2.40 is an MTB tire designed for XC and technical trail riding, combining efficient rolling with the control needed when the terrain becomes more demanding.

The tread pattern features wide center knobs that contribute to braking control, while the L-shaped side knobs provide support when cornering.

Wide Trail construction

WT (Wide Trail) identifies a construction developed to optimize tire shape and tread profile on MTB rims with a wider internal rim width.

For this version, Maxxis indicates optimization for rims with a 35 mm internal width. The 29x2.40 size corresponds to an ETRTO of 61-622.

EXO protection and Tubeless Ready

EXO protection uses an abrasion- and cut-resistant material added to the sidewalls. Maxxis describes it as a lightweight and flexible protection designed to increase durability without significantly changing tire performance.

Tubeless Ready (TR) technology allows the Rekon to be used with a compatible tubeless wheel system and sealant. A tubeless setup also allows the use of lower pressures than an inner-tube configuration when appropriate for the wheel system and riding conditions.

Dual compound

This Rekon version uses a Dual compound together with a 60 TPI foldable casing, providing a balanced setup for different MTB riding requirements.
