Trek Commuter Pro RT: powerful front bike light with Kindbeam technology

When riding in the dark, having a powerful light is important, but so is illuminating the road without creating excessive glare for oncoming road users.

The Trek Commuter Pro RT uses Kindbeam technology to focus the light on the path ahead of the bike while helping reduce glare towards oncoming traffic.

With a maximum output of 1000 lumens, it is designed for road riding as well as off-road paths and trails.

Three lighting modes

The Commuter Pro RT offers three main lighting modes to adapt the output to different riding conditions:

• High beam: 1000 lumens, with up to 1.5 hours of runtime.
• Low beam: 500 lumens, with up to 3 hours of runtime.
• Daytime flash: 300 lumens, with up to 12 hours of runtime.

The daytime running light combines focused optics, a specific flash pattern and beam distance designed to increase visibility during daylight riding.

Kindbeam: light where you need it

Kindbeam technology defines the light distribution of the Commuter Pro RT. The beam is focused on the path ahead, helping prevent the light from being directed straight into the eyes of oncoming road users.

This makes the light particularly suitable for rides that combine roads, bike paths and off-road sections, where powerful illumination and controlled light distribution are both useful.

ANT+ and Bluetooth wireless connectivity

The Commuter Pro RT features wireless ANT+ and Bluetooth connectivity.

It can be wirelessly paired with a compatible Trek/Bontrager RT light, allowing the front and rear lights to be managed together. A dual battery indicator also lets you monitor the battery level of both the Commuter Pro RT and the paired light.

Power bank function

The USB-C port is not only used to recharge the light. The Commuter Pro RT can also be used as a backup power source for an external device such as a smartphone or cycling computer.

This is particularly useful on longer rides when an additional source of power can be helpful.

Battery and runtime

The light uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and features an indicator that makes it easy to check the remaining charge.

Charging is carried out via USB-C and takes approximately 4 hours. The battery has a stated capacity of 4800 mAh.

Handlebar mounting

The Commuter Pro RT comes with an adjustable rigid handlebar mount designed for handlebars from 25.4 to 35 mm, using the supplied shim where required.

The mounting system allows the light to be quickly installed and removed from the bracket.
