The Garmin Varia™ RTL515 is a rearview radar with integrated rear light designed to increase rider awareness during every cycling adventure. Connected to a Garmin Edge® cycling computer, compatible smartphone or supported Garmin device, it alerts you when vehicles are approaching from behind, helping you ride with greater confidence.

Compact, lightweight and easy to install, the Varia™ RTL515 combines a high-performance radar system with a rear safety light in a single device, offering enhanced awareness without adding unnecessary bulk to your bike.

Rearview radar up to 140 metres

The radar detects approaching vehicles from behind up to 140 metres away and sends visual and audible alerts to compatible devices. This allows riders to stay informed about surrounding traffic without taking their attention away from the road.

Compatible with Edge®, smartphones and Garmin devices

The Garmin Varia™ RTL515 can be paired with Garmin Edge® cycling computers, a compatible smartphone or both at the same time. It is also compatible with selected Garmin wearables and the optional Varia radar display, offering multiple ways to view radar alerts.

Garmin Varia™ App

When paired with the Garmin Varia™ app, the radar provides visual, audible and vibration alerts showing the position and speed of approaching vehicles, improving awareness of your surroundings.

Compatible with third-party apps

When used with a compatible smartphone, the Varia™ RTL515 can integrate with supported third-party apps, allowing radar alerts to be displayed while navigating or recording your activity.

Superior visibility during the day

In addition to the radar function, the device features a rear light designed to improve rider visibility. The daytime flash mode allows drivers to see you from a distance of over 1.6 km, helping increase safety during daytime rides.

Group Mode

When riding in a group, Group Mode reduces the intensity of the flashing light to minimise distraction for other cyclists while keeping the rear radar functions active.

Compact design and easy installation

The Garmin Varia™ RTL515 features a compact design that easily fits beneath the saddle of most road bikes. Its vertical orientation helps provide additional leg clearance, while the mounting system allows for quick and secure installation.

Battery life for longer rides

With multiple lighting modes available, the Varia™ RTL515 offers up to 16 hours of battery life in daytime flash mode, making it suitable for daily training rides as well as longer cycling adventures.
